In Urbino to increase the advantage on the table
Spes is preparing for one of the most difficult away matches of the season with a few injury problems to solve. Rabadzhieva and Serafin have recovered, but Turlea is still in doubt. In the meantime Dirickx is going to celebrate her 150th appearance in A1.
The injury situation at Spes Conegliano is improving, but is still not solved. Dobriana Rabadzhieva has recovered from her neck problems and Marika Serafin doesn't feel pain in the leg anymore. Unfortunately Carmen Turlea still has problems with her back. She is undergoing therapies to try and make her available for the match in Urbino, where she should be on the court along her teammates. The clash in the Marche region will be very important towards the playoffs. Chateau d'Ax is currently holding seventh place on the table. Should Conegliano bring home three points the advantage on the seventh place would increase to 7 points making the direct qualification to the quarterfinals of the playoffs (first six teams of the Regular Season) a real possibility. Though, coach Dragan Nesic doesn't carried away by euphoria: "It will be an extremely difficult match. Urbino plays very well at home and it will be complicated to make points against them."
It will be an important match for all the Panthers but in particular for Frauke Dirickx. The Belgian player will have her 150th appearance in A1: "I didn't really think about it and I discovered it only a few days ago. I must say it is a lot of matches and it is strange to reach this number. It surely makes me happy to have played that many games in the Italian league." As for the match with Urbino, Dirickx agrees with her coach: "It will be a tough match. They have to play a lot of matches, but they are getting better with every match. I think we will have to play very well to be able to stop them."
In the previous encounters between the two team Spes won on 8 occasions in 11 matches, but in A1 it is Urbino who leads (2-1). Chateau d'Ax comes to this match having conquered the semifinals of the CEV Cup during the week. It is an achievement that will surely do a lot of good to the morale of Francois Salvagni's team, since it has lost the last two league matches (Villa Cortese and Novara). Urbino conquered 13 points in 6 matches at home, winning on five occasions. On the other hand, in away matches Spes took 8 points in six matches, winning three times. The match is on schedule for Sunday 6th March at 18.00 at the Sports gym Mondolce in Urbino. The referees will be Mauro Goitre and Gabriele Balboni. It will be possible to follow the match on Blu Radio Veneto, on the official Facebook and Twitter pages of Spes and on the Lega Volley Femminile site.
