Nesic: "Surprised by the first place, not by our strength"

Spes prepares to defend the leadership against Piacenza. Lucchetta: "Amongst the best with our fans, and in a few years also for the results."
The first place is a surprise, not the team itself. That's what Dragan Nesic says before the home match against Piacenza: "We put up a good team, that is mature enough and we are happy with what we achieved until this moment. Nonetheless, we have to get better every day." On Sunday 23rd January at 18:00 (live on Sportube.tv and Blu Radio Veneto) Spes Conegliano will play Rebecchi Nordmeccanica Piacenza, a team that is almost completely Italian and which is having a good championship for the moment. "It wouldn't be a surprise to lose against Piacenza as it wouldn't be a surprise to beat them. It is sure that we will have difficulties as the season goes on, but after all we are not one of the strongest teams in the league. We want to become that in four or five years time. For now we can say that our fans are amongst the best" says president Giovanni Lucchetta.
Libero Carla Rossetto says: "The fans deserve this leadership, but they must be aware that we could finish fourth, fifth or even eighth and they should not lose their faith in us and neither get too disappointed by that. As a team we get along well and we are always happy to get to the gym and train."
Carmen Turlea, in her 14th year in Italy, is still playing at the highest level: "Because of my role I am used to live with pressure and it doesn't give me particular difficulties to be the number one attacker in the team. I am happy that I manage to express my maximum. For now I am doing well physically and I am working well. After all, I think that Sunday's matches prove it."
Coach Nesic looks to the next match: "Our problem right now is that teams at our level are starting to think that they come to us and have absolutely nothing to lose, so they play without pressure. Honestly, I don't believe that Piacenza (with Borelli, Brussa, Tirozzi and Dall'Igna) can come here without thinking about a victory. It will surely be their goal and we will have to take at least a point away from them. The week still has not ended so there is still some time to choose the starting players. I can say that no matter who starts the match all three outside hitters (Fiorin, Rabadzhieva, Serafin) will play during the match."
